New Jersey NRCS Geographic Information Systems (GIS)Contact: Gary Casabona GIS SpecialistWelcome to the web page of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), New Jersey, Geographic Information Systems (GIS). GIS is a powerful suite of software packages designed to allow users to create, view, analyze and store spatially mapped data; as well as tabular data that are associated with the various map layers. GIS has the capability to integrate data from many different sources and can be used for various conservation applications. NRCS GIS projects include: digitizing of soil surveys, estimating runoff using the TR-55 model, watershed analyses, conservation plans, and many other applications. We provide GIS base data to our partners and service centers. LinksNRCS digital soils data (SSURGO) may be downloaded free of charge at National SSURGO database Data Access USDA LinksUniversity Links
