Hispanic Emphasis Program
Welcome - Bienvenido
The Hispanic Emphasis Program Manager is responsible for assuring that
persons of Hispanic origin have an equal opportunity to compete for Federal
employment and promotions. Hispanics are persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican,
Cuban, Central or South American, or other Spanish culture or origin, regardless
of race. In order to be considered Hispanic, a person must have at least 1/4 of
their ancestry from a Spanish culture listed above.
The program seeks to:
- Identify and remove barriers that prevent Hispanics from being hired.
- Analyze the current workforce, inform NRCS management about
under-representation of Hispanics, and develop strategies to increase Hispanic
representation.
- Identify and work with schools that have large Hispanic student
populations.
- Ensure that all Hispanics receive equal training opportunities.
- Ensure that Hispanics are equally represented in all NRCS job categories
in National Headquarters, Regions, States, Centers and Institutes.
